The Frog Speed Test: New Record of 49.7km/h Reached!

Today, I’m sharing the results of my speed test revenge with the Tamiya “The Frog.”

In the previous run, I faced a significant mechanical issue.

The car became undriveable after only two or three laps.

The cause was a lost grub screw from the universal shaft.

This time, I performed thorough maintenance to ensure peak performance.

I’m back for a re-challenge in top condition.

The Machine Setup

I kept the machine settings identical to the previous run.

The goal was to see the pure impact of proper maintenance.

I focused on re-greasing all parts and ensuring every screw was tightened.

Let’s get straight to the results of the speed test.

The result was 49.7 km/h!

I successfully broke my previous record of 45.5 km/h.

The maintenance clearly paid off in terms of performance.

I was only 0.3 km/h away from the 50 km/h milestone.

However, the same trouble struck again.

The grub screw on the universal shaft came off, ending the session.

Although it became undriveable, I feel there is more potential.

I believe the top speed can still increase.

I plan to perform more maintenance and aim to break the 50 km/h barrier next time!
