As my second RC car after the Tamiya Grasshopper, I chose the modern DT-04 chassis. However, instead of buying a kit, I decided to build this one entirely from individual parts. This allowed me to create a completely custom machine right from the start. Here is a detailed look at my one-of-a-kind build.
Overall Look and Color Scheme
Here is the completed Fighter Nexgen. It features the low-slung, aggressive form of a modern racing buggy.

Here is a side view of the car. The color scheme is a combination of red and black, painted with the following Tamiya sprays:
- TS-95 Pure Metallic Red
- TS-29 Semi-Gloss Black

Wheels and Tires: Borrowed from the BBX
The rolling stock was sourced from the Tamiya BBX, as their modern design perfectly complements the DT-04 chassis.
- Wheels: SP.1715 BBX Chrome Plated Wheels (26mm Width, Offset +2mm) 4pcs.
- Front Tires: SP.1716 “Rough Ride” Ribbed Tires (w/Inner Sponge, 2pcs.)
- Rear Tires: SP.1717 “Rough Ride” Block Tires (w/Inner Sponge, 2pcs.)
