Have you ever wondered how fast your RC car actually goes?
Today, I conducted a top speed test for my DT-04 “Fighter Next Gen.”
Here is the detailed report of the speed run at the park.
Machine Specs & Setup

Before the results, let’s look at the key components used for this build.
- Motor: Tamiya Super Stock BZ Motor
- ESC: Hobbywing QuicRUN-WP-1060-Brushed
- Battery: 2S LiPo 7.4V 50C 4000mAh
- Pinion Gear: Tamiya Steel Pinion 19T
- Tires: Rough Ride Rib (Front) / Block Pin (Rear)
This setup pairs a high-torque BZ motor with LiPo power.
Rough Ride tires provide the necessary grip for dirt surfaces.
Mounting the GPS Speedometer

I used the “CYCPLUS GPS Bicycle Computer” for accurate speed tracking.
It’s easy to mount on an RC chassis using the included parts.
Its lightweight design ensures it doesn’t affect the car’s handling.
The Result: Speed Run at the Park
Full throttle in the park! A great day for a speed run.
Now, it is time for the final results.

The top speed recorded was **38.7 km/h**!
For a dirt run, this is a very satisfying result.
The torque from the BZ motor provided excellent top-end acceleration.
Conclusion & What’s Next
Using a GPS computer adds a new dimension of fun to the RC hobby.
It’s great for seeing the impact of different gear ratios and motors.
Next time, I plan to test the speed of the legendary Grasshopper!
Stay tuned to see how fast the classic buggy can go!
