Top 3 Must-Have Hop-Up Parts for the Tamiya Grasshopper!

Build Diary

The Tamiya Grasshopper is a timeless classic. While it’s fun right out of the box, a few simple upgrades can dramatically improve its performance. In this article, I’ll introduce three essential, bolt-on parts that I’ve personally tested and highly recommend for any Grasshopper owner.

Eagle Racing AL Front Skid Bumper for Hornet Evo

The first thing to upgrade is the front bumper. It drastically changes the look of the buggy and provides much better chassis protection. While a blue version for the Grasshopper exists, the black version for the Hornet Evo looks fantastic. Best of all, it’s a direct fit with no modifications needed.

Eagle Racing SP Shock Set for Grasshopper

The Grasshopper is famous for its bouncy suspension. The best way to tame it is with oil dampers. This shock set is perfect for those who want to use the stock suspension mounts without any modifications to the body or chassis. It’s a simple and effective upgrade.

Eagle Racing AL Front Extend Knuckle +5mm

If you want to easily improve cornering stability, this part is a must-have. It widens the front track width by a total of 10mm (5mm per side). It’s also a very versatile part, as it can be used on other chassis like the DT-02 and DT-03.
